The performance of the DP2.0 protocol is more powerful here, and has entered a new level in terms of bandwidth, resolution and refresh rate. The performance of HDMI2.1 is close to the previous version of DP2.0, DP1.4.

 

 

Three, DP2.0 and HDMI2.1 application advantages

From the above two points, it can be found that DP2.0 is superior to HDMI2.1 in terms of interface versatility and performance parameters, and the DP2.0 interface has an advantage for manufacturers, that is, it is free of certification and license fees. However, the VESA Association has not announced the supporting chip solution for DP2.0, so there is no PC display device equipped with DP2.0 interface on the market. DP2.0 can only be said to have great potential.

 

For HDMI2.1, the application environment that HDMI has accumulated over the years has been very mature. It is widely used in computer hosts, high-definition TVs, and projection imaging, and the supporting equipment is also very sound. This is the advantage of HDMI2.1, and at this stage Network high-definition resources are almost all configured in 4k@60, 8k video resources are rare, and 16k is almost non-existent, so the HDMI2.1 protocol can fully meet the needs, and HDMI2.1 has obvious advantages over DP2.0 applications.
